Hello, Toronto!

Well, we’re pretty proud around the Green Table Foods headquarters these days. On Friday, November 2nd, we dropped off our first deliveries to Toronto. Our new partners, Ruby Eats (a lovely food store in Leslieville on Queen Street East, co-owned by celebrity chef Lynn Crawford) and The Healthy Butcher on Eglinton Avenue West (amazingly successful organic butcher and gourmet food store) are the first retailers to embark on this new part of our journey. We sure are proud to have them on board with us.

I still remember Josh and I talking about the prospect of seeing our creations hit the shelves in Toronto, as I held our first baby and he passionately zipped around the kitchen building a future for our little family. As parents, we can now envision a role for our daughters at Green Table Foods when they grow up. The significance of being in Toronto is concrete and highly symbolic at once: Green Table Foods’ growth is visible and as people are seeking new ways to eat conveniently, they’re welcoming the options we offer into their homes. Indeed, it’s becoming increasingly clear that people want to eat healthy food that can be traced back to specific producers who are working hard to keep our eating habits sustainable over time.

We’ve come such a long way in the past 8 years and could not have done it without the strong community support we’ve received at home in Guelph. If we could go back, we wouldn’t change a thing. Guelph seems to be the perfect place to launch a venture like ours. Our family will forever take this genuine backing with us as we grow into different parts of the country.
